Maine Coasters’ Chance Bedroom Reveal
Meet our new spot! This is just a little sneak peek of the main bedroom in our new guest stay cottage in Cutler, Maine. An old barn loft that we converted into an ideal bedroom suite, we wanted to preserve the beauty of the original wood and beams—the result is a rustic and cozy feeling space that you’ll want to spend plenty of time in. So whether you’re enjoying the view from the deck, drinking coffee in bed, or soaking in the tub, this room feels like the ultimate in vacation luxury.
Beds are sort of our specialty here at Moore House—and we take them so seriously. Outfitting them in layers of luxurious linens and making sure they’re as comfortable as they are beautiful is our number one priority for our guests. We even devoted an entire blog post to all of our bedding essentials. We had the bed custom made for this space, it needed to feel substantial enough to ground the room but we also wanted it to have clean lines that nod to the beautiful beams above. We’re so excited to be offering a selection of beds online when our e-commerce site launches in the fall.

The bedside tables offer plenty of space for stashing books and all of your bedtime essentials. We purposely kept the wall behind the bed pretty clear with the exception of a sconce for a little nighttime reading and some antique woodblocks (used for making wallpaper) as wall art. The piece that ties this vignette together? A stunning rug from our wonderful friends at Passerine, its colors add a whole new depth the room and allows the various neutrals to really shine.
Also, do you spy that curtain by that gorgeous vintage door? Not only is it custom cut fabric, it offers a little privacy if you want it while you’re soaking in the tub.

So look at how beautiful this standalone tub is. Can’t you just imagine yourself here with a glass of champagne and a good book…and bubbles of course! We’ve been working with Signature Hardware for years and we absolutely love them. This tub that they sent us just makes this space. It doesn’t get more romantic when you’ve got views like this. Not shown, the struggle it took to get this bath tub in place. Getting it to the second story main suite was no easy feat. It’s a 500lb tub and we didn’t have the resources to crane it in during the construction phase. So we used our best pivoting skills and casually carried the tub up a very narrow staircase with multiple bends. So let’s just say that we’re never moving it. Thankfully no movers were harmed in this process!
Another feature in this room that we just love is the deck access. Leaving the door open so summer breezes can make their way in, and being able to walk out and spend time on the deck allows us to bring the Maine coastline inside as a feature of this room. This whole main bedroom feels representative of the calm and tranquil vibe that is Cutler, Maine. We can’t wait for you to experience it for yourselves so keep an eye out for booking information.
