But we have plenty of really wonderful little shops that we love to browse and buy from. Most of them are located right in charming Tiverton Four Corners. the cheese wheel village market

They had us at cheese—but there’s so much more to love at this shop. Not only an impressive selection of cheeses from cheddars to brie to goat, they’ve got the rest of the fixings for creating a killer cheese board too. It’s a perfect one stop when you’re fixing up a casual dinner at one of our cottages. Their cracker selection is also top notch. The fresh produce, with options coming from local farms, always feels seasonal and just the right addition to dinner. A great spot to find local makers, their selection of spice blends like sea salt and rubs for everything from chicken to steak will offer a zesty upgrade to every meal.
gray’s ice cream

It’s a rare day when you won’t find anyone in the parking lot of Gray’s Ice Cream. Open 365 days a year—when a lot of other seasonal places shut down for the winter—you can get a cup or cone when the mood strikes. Their homemade flavors are rich and creamy, but we particularly love their black raspberry ice cream. Their sizing is also very generous so order accordingly!

We’re truly lucky to have gardener and nurserywoman, Taylor Johnston’s shop in town. Full of beautiful and durable denim and workwear that’s meticulously designed and constructed, she’s been a true style icon since Bill Cunningham took a photograph of her at work at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. All of her materials and patterns get road tested in her own garden too. Her clothing is inspired by archival design and is all American-made, toeing the line between durability and delicately detailed. Her shop is open by appointment so reach out to pick up an assortment of her beautiful jeans, smocks, shirts, and more.
Groundswell cafe + Bakery

We’re eagerly awaiting the opening (along with the rest of Tiverton) of the Groundswell Cafe+Bakery. Their menu looks tasty and varied, offering both breakfast and lunch options, plus, we’re so excited to see the renovations they’ve done inside the historic Provender building. Get a sweet treat and then cross the street to check out their home and garden store too, it’s right behind the big red vintage truck, you can’t miss it.

Don’t be fooled by The Cottage’s square footage, the beautifully curated store contains buys for the home decorator, with plenty of linens, pillows, fabrics, and rug samples to peruse but it also offers smaller housewares that make great gifts too. Colorful cookbooks, glassware, picture frames, wooden bowls and serving utensils and more, you can easily spend over an hour here looking at everything it has to offer. It’s all so artfully arranged that going inside feels like a mini vacation from the outside world. It’s truly a secret weapon if you’re looking for a special gift for a loved one or friend.

A visit to Peckham’s always feels festive and fun, they’ve got a huge selection of plants, shrubs, trees, and more set up outside, and we love their cheerful row of rainbow colored greenhouses. Inside you can find more tropical plants, cacti, and even some fresh cut flowers for gifting. If you have a green thumb it’s easy to want to walk away with an armful of new house plants. And yup, this technically isn’t in Tiverton, but it’s just a quick ride away from Tiverton Four Corners, and we promise it’s completely worth it!
