The Moore House Office Reveal

OK, so this reveal is a little different for us because….drumroll please…we’re showing off our brand new warehouse studio! If you’ve been following us awhile you might remember seeing this cool old space we toured along with a few other options—but this beauty stole our hearts. It might be a little different than your average interiors studio, but we need the storage space for vintage finds and to house items that we’ll be selling in our very own e-commerce shop.

One of the coolest thing about the new space is that we feel like it’s the perfect balance between functional office space while still showing off what we’re all about to clients that come in for presentations and meetings. Obviously, we’ve got stunning vintage finds, plaster walls (because of course), and thanks to the sky high industrial-style windows we’ve got our whole broody (bright+moody) vibe covered. Here’s a little more about the space and some of our best tips for a beautiful and functional office space.

One of the most important things for us was a sense of tranquility in this space—we like to have fun but wanted the space to feel organized and pared down. It allows the mood boards for clients and presentations to really shine. So you’re not going to see a lot of clutter. Open concept seating and minimal desk set-ups keep the team honest. We all need to stay on top of our work spaces.

We also needed a place for all of the essentials and extra perks like a little kitchen area. We work long hours sometimes and the ability to have some food and drinks on hand makes it so much easier. But you know, we didn’t want to just have your standard run-of-the-mill fridge, we love this SMEG’s sweet vintage style.

Counter height and oversized cabinets are the secret to our organizing success. It helps us stash all the essentials we need without creating visual noise and crowding some of our beautiful tables, desks, and counters. Plus, in an open concept space like this it offers a nice delineation between different sections of the office.

Also, when you’ve got your hands full with projects it’s important that whatever office space you end up in offers versatility. We love the rugged look of these wood floors—they’ve seen a lot over the years and lend such a unique history to the office. Since we’re using the office for a little bit of everything, you’ll notice we also planned ahead by painting some of our surfaces to be ample (and wonderfully neutral) photo back drops. Expect to see many a Moore House branded product in front of some of these walls.

We made plenty of room for mood boards in the office too. You’ll notice we’ve got two types. Some are traditional pinboards and others are simple wooden trays that we pull tactile and visual inspiration for client presentations. Thanks to plenty of clear surfaces we’ve got all the room we need to spread out and make an impression. While we love the vintage pendant lights that offer overhead light, we added plenty of beautiful desk lighting too. Just like in your own home, your office should have plenty of different types of lighting that cater to how you use the space.

We’re just so happy to have an official home and we hope you love this peek into our office space. Now you know where we’re checking in from most of the time—although we’re not afraid to admit that these images might be a very neat and organized version of the space. What can we say? Things can get a little crazy in between big presentations! But it feels really nice to have a beautiful space to house our growing business and team!
